LATROBE (93.7 The Fan) – Six days before the first preseason game the Steelers added a receiver and tight end off waivers Friday night.
Steelers claimed receiver 6’3”, 215-pound Colton Dowell from the 49ers and Lance Mason (6’4”, 240 pounds), a tight end released by Seattle.
Dowell made a start in 10 games his rookie year with the Titans with a pair of tackles on special teams. He spent part of last season on the Ravens practice squad and signed with San Francisco this year.
An undrafted free agent signed by the Seahawks in May, Mason played at Wisconsin last season after three years at Missouri with 86 total receptions for 1,198 yards and 12 TD.
Steelers released tight end JJ Galbreath (who played in three preseason games with the Steelers in 2025) and receiver AT Perry (a star at Wake Forest who played 10 games-3 starts-with the Saints in 2023).
