PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – More depth to the Steelers backfield, as the team signed another to a one-year contract on Tuesday, the first day of Organized Team Activities on the South Side.
Running back Jonathan Ward comes to the Steelers after starting his career as an undrafted free agent with the Cardinals in 2020. He played in 14 games his rookie season, all but four snaps were on special teams. Ward played 32 games in parts of three seasons with Arizona. He was picked up by the Titans in 2022 and played three games and then seven games with the Titans last year as he bounced from the practice squad to the active roster.
The 26-year-old is 6’, 202 pounds and played at Central Michigan where he had a pair of 1,000-yard seasons and 28 career rushing touchdowns, 15 his final season. He also caught 98 passes in college for 909 yards and four TDs. Ward was a captain his senior season and Third Team All-MAC.
