Hey Steelers, can you please bring back the block number uniforms?

It may be the most important issue facing the Steelers heading into the future…their uniforms.

Since the turn of the new millennium, the Steelers have been wearing uniforms featuring rounded numbers and a Steeler logo on the front.

After over 20 years, it’s time to bring back the block numbering that was made famous by the Super Bowl winning teams of the 1970s.

“There is no good reason the Pittsburgh Steelers have rounded numbers, there are none, said Morning Show host Colin Dunlap. “Art the Second, okay, overtime you figured that out, okay, alright we have a new offensive assistant that has to be a minority or a woman, I get it, big issues, now let’s get on to  the other stuff…let’s change these uniforms back.”

Fellow host Chris Mack says the best argument for reverting back to the all-block numbers is letting the rounded numbers be known as the Ben Roethlisberger-era jerseys, even if they debuted a few years before he was drafted.

Dunlap says they can use the block number uniforms as an alternate home jersey for a year or two and then transition to wearing them full time.

NFL teams will be allowed to have a home, away and two alternate jerseys beginning in 2023.

Also beginning next season, the NFL will also allow an alternate helmet again. The Steelers, in the past, have used an all-gold helmet to go with their alternate jerseys.

Dunlap adds when his young daughter was given the chance to pick a jersey on the Steelers website, she went with a T.J. Watt home block numbered jersey.

“That one looks so much cooler,” Dunlap’s daughter said.
