PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Could Aaron Rodgers be on his way to Pittsburgh??
News broke hours before the 2021 NFL Draft that the future Hall of Fame Quarterback has become "disgruntled" with the Green Bay Packers and wants to be moved.
According to Adam Schefter, Rodgers has informed someone within the Packers organization that he will not be returning to the team for the 2021 season.
Not long after that bomb dropped the rumors and predictions have not stopped.
A prediction that found some traction was a tweet from former running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
Jones-Drew said Rodgers could be sent to the Steelers for Ben Roethlisberger and a third round pick.
Now wouldn’t that be something? Trading a franchise quarterback for another franchise quarterback.
Jones-Drew doubled, and even tripled down on the idea when he clarified that he wants to see the move happen so the Steelers can win again.
When Joe Haden asked Steelers fans who they wanted their team to get in the Draft tonight, Jones-Drew kept the train rolling by quoting the tweet and saying “Aaron Rodgers” quite emphatically.
To make matters even weirder, former Cincinnati Bangles wide receiver Chad Johnson tweeted that he heard rumblings that the Steelers are involved in the situation.
While nothing is certain, a Big Ben for Rodgers trade would surely be one of the biggest deals in NFL history.
