PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers finished with NFL Draft with a pair of seventh round picks.

Ole Miss Linebacker Mark Robinson

He converted to running back in his final season playing in all 13 games with 01 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.  The 5’11”, 235-pounder started his career at Presbyterian College in 2017 where he had moderate success as a running back.  He would transfer to Southeast Missouri and play running back rushing for 364 yards and four touchdowns.  He would then transfer to Mississippi where he made the switch to linebacker.

“Excited to have Mark, brought him in for a visit,” said Steelers LB Coach Brian Flores.  “I think it’s part of what he liked about him, there is some upside here.  It’s somebody who hasn’t played the position for a long time.  He showed speed, athleticism, toughness, physicality.  There are a lot of things we liked.  It’s a fun guy to watch on film as well.”

South Dakota State QB Chris Oladokun

A graduate transfer to South Dakota State where he threw for 3,164 yards with 25 touchdowns and another two rushing TD and 166 rushing yards.  He’s 6’2”, 195-pounds and started his career at South Florida and then spent two seasons at Samford, had a seven-touchdown game at Tennessee Tech tying a school record (6 of the touchdowns were passes).

Oladokun visited with the Steelers before the draft saying he had dinner with Matt Canada. It's the first time since the 1968 NFL Draft when the Steelers drafted two quarterbacks in the same year.

“I took a visit to Pittsburgh, and I really enjoyed my time in Pittsburgh on my visit, so when they took him (Kenny Pickett in the first round) I was like, ‘man, well I don’t know if they’re out of play or not’,” Oladokun said. “Me and my agent sort of trusted the process, and I’m just glad to be a Steeler now.”
