PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It’s the team he’s had the second most career rushing yards against and the site of a career-altering injury, there is interest in the Steelers organization in Browns free agent running back Nick Chubb.

The first, big point to make are the medical reports. Given the severity of the knee injury suffered at Acrisure Stadium on September 18, 2023, this could be a quick inquiry. Chubb underwent surgery to repair the MCL, meniscus and ACL in his left knee in the Fall of ‘23. He was able to return to limited action against the Bengals on October 20 of last season. The former All Pro had his most carries (20) and yards (59) in a win against the Steelers on November 21 scoring a pair of touchdowns and had 48 yards on 11 carries in the second game in 2024.

The 29-year-old has expressed interest in remaining with Cleveland, who drafted him in the second round out of Georgia in 2018. He had four straight one-thousand-yard seasons starting in 2019, running for a career-high 1,525 yards and 12 TDs in 2022.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin often praised Chubb’s abilities referring to him as ‘Mr. Chubb’ in news conferences. He would likely have other suitors including potentially Buffalo, Chicago, Dallas.

There is interest in seven-year Browns running back, but several factors would have to fall into place before it would get beyond interest.
