PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A senior defensive assistant coach with the Steelers for one season, the Steelers have requested to interview Brian Flores for its head coaching job according to Adam Schefter.
After he was fired by the Dolphins, Mike Tomlin brought him to Pittsburgh with that title. He spent a season with the Steelers, to which the linebackers, who he primarily worked with, praised his impact. Flores worked in concert with defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
The 44-year-old is currently the Vikings defensive coordinator. Minnesota was seventh in the NFL in points against (19.6) in 2025, second in passing yards allowed despite only eight team interceptions. They were 21st in rushing yards allowed with 2,110.
Flores got his break with Bill Belichick and spent from 2008-18 with New England before taking over in Miami.
