PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The standard was certainly not the standard at Heinz Field Sunday night.

Of course, if you listen to some callers and fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, some would argue that last night has become the standard for this team.

The Steelers used four first half turnovers to dig themselves a 28-0 hole that they could never quite climb themselves out from in a 48-37 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

As per tradition on The Fan Morning Show, an infuriating, frustrating, disgusting, inexplicable loss in Pittsburgh sports means one thing: “30 Minutes Of Hell.”

What is it, you ask? It’s a chance for enraged listeners to call in, get all of their anger out, say what’s on their mind, tell us how they REALLY feel for as long as they possibly can or until FMS hosts Colin Dunlap, Chris Mack and Jim Colony deem they are running out of gas, then they get buzzed and the show moves on to the next rage machine/caller.

Monday’s edition packed a punch.

The takes reached from well-researched like caller Jeff:

“3-6 in the last decade in the playoffs, which includes 2 wins over backup quarterbacks. Averaging giving up 28 points per game in the playoffs, 32.5 if you don’t count the backup quarterbacks. And that’s with a Hall of Fame coach. Like, the standard is what? Sucking in the playoffs? You’ve got to get rid of the guy.”

Caller Tyler brought some insider information to the proceedings (allegedly):

“I have a buddy who plays in the league when we punted the ball on the 4th and 1 and he said, ‘You just lost the game, you have no chance of coming back no matter what happens.’ Like what are we doing?”

Luke wants to see Ben Roethlisberger in a competitive on TV again...just not playing quarterback for the Steelers:

“The next time I want to see Ben Roethlisberger is on TNT playing golf with Phil Mickelson, Justin Thomas and Peyton Manning. With $60 million between that center, that guard and that quarterback, that offense can do nothing next year. All three need to be playing for someone else or watching from the couch.”

Caller Joe is fed up and even offers a roster move the Steelers could make:

“I’m tired of the constant embarrassment and letdown that Pittsburgh does for this team. Ben’s gotta go. Time for him to retire. Step aside. You call Houston and you tell them, ‘I don’t care what it takes, let’s make this work (presumably for QB Deshaun Watson).’  This is Tomlin’s last freakin’ time embarrassing us. Over it.”

Of course, caller Corey skipped much of the explanation and went straight for the point:

“Blow it all up! Get rid of them all!”
