UPDATE: Severe weather forced the Steelers to cancel their padded practice on Tuesday.
The Steelers made several moves ahead of the first padded practice of Training Camp Tuesday.
Pittsburgh signed running back Lew Nichol, tight end Kevin Foelsch and defensive lineman Domenique Davis.
To make room for the new players, the Steelers made the release of running back/returner Cordarrelle Patterson official, after he announced the move himself on Monday.
They also played receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig and linebacker Jeremiah Moon on the waived/injured list.
Foelsch, and undrafted free agent out of Division-II school New haven has spent time with Carolina, New York Jets, Philadelphia and Kansas City, but has yet to appear in a regular season NFL game.
Nichols, taken in the 7th round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, led the Division I FBS in yards with 1,710 in 2021 and was the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Nichols has also spent time with the Eagles practice squad.
Davis went undrafted in 2020, signing with Jets before failing a physical.
He then moved on to the USFL, playing with the Houston Gamblers.
Since 2022, Davis has bounced back and forth between the Bengals and Steelers practice squads.
