The Steelers officially played defensive tackle Isaiahh Loudermilk on the reserve/injured list and made several other moves Wednesday morning.
Loudermilk has a high ankle sprain injury that Head Coach Mike Tomlin said will keep him out "weeks".
The Steelers also signed defensive end DeMarvin Leal from the practice squad to the active roster, made the signing of receiver Isaiah Hodgins.
Both Hodgins and tight end Matt Sokol were signed to the practice squad.
To make room on the practice squad, the Steelers released tight end JJ Galbreath and wide receiver Rakim Jarrett.
Fan Steelers insider Mark Kaboly, of The Pat McAfee Shows says Leal provides some depth to linebacker with Alex Highsmith out this Sunday against the Patriots.
