Steelers need to stop trend of getting blown out early

It's been over early for the Steelers in last four playoff games

It takes 60 minutes to decide a football game, but for the Steelers they need to get off to a better start than they have their past four playoff games.

The Steelers are a nearly 10-point underdog in Baltimore for Saturday’s game and while nearly all games with the Ravens come down to the wire, look at the Steelers last playoff appearances.

2023 - Last season, they were down 21-0 to the Bills
2021 – After a T.J. Watt defensive touchdown, were quickly down 35-7
2020 – Cleveland jumped out to a 28-0 lead
2017 – The Steelers (probably looking ahead to New England) fell behind 21-0 to Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

One caller into the Fan Morning Show said he believes you’ll know who the winner is within the first 10 minutes of the game.

If the Steelers are down 10 points or more, early, expect a long evening in miserable Baltimore weather.

No matter who was under center, Justin Fields or Russell Wilson, the Steelers went the entire 2024 regular season without scoring a touchdown on the first drive of the game.

Slow starts have plagued the Steelers all year and have a habit of getting down big in the playoffs.

A mix of that could explain the 9.5-point underdog status they find themselves in for the Wild Card.
