Going into this third season, Jones was Alex Highsmith’s backup last year.

He played in all 17 games for the Steelers last year, spending most of his time on special teams and played 86 snaps for eight percent on defense last season.

Originally signed by the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2020, the product out of Notre Dame also spent time with the Jaguars and Rams in 2021 after he was released by the Steelers in April 2021.

Jones was claimed off waivers by the Steelers in 2022 after he was released by the Jaguars following training camp.

In 32 career games, Jones has 13 total tackles, two quarterback his and one pass defended.

He also has seven tackles on special teams.

Jones made $825,000 with the Steelers last year.
