The Steelers have released safety Keanu Neal.
The team says he’s being released because he failed a physical Thursday.
Neal started in eight games for the Steelers last season, playing in nine.
Neal was placed on Injured Reserve in mid-November after he suffered a rib injury. He didn’t return for the rest of the season.
Neal has 50 total tackles and one interception.
The 28-year-old, eight-year veteran signed as a free agent with the Steelers before the 2023 season.
The Steelers will save around $2.25 million in cap space.
They’ll need to find some safety help in free agency or the draft.
