
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers poached from the Super Bowl champions on Tuesday night to improve their backfield. Reports running back Kenneth Gainwell will join Jaylen Warren on a one-year deal as first reported by Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports.
A fifth-round pick out of Memphis in 2021, Gainwell had 290 yards rushing and 116 yards receiving in 2024. The soon-to-be 26-year-old played in only 26% of the offensive snaps and 25% on special teams.
Over his four seasons in Philadelphia, 1185 rushing yards (4.2 average) with 12 touchdowns along with 721 receiving yards and a TD with 7.1 yards per reception. In three games in the 2022 playoffs, the 5’9”, 200 pounder had 181 yards rushing and 55 yards receiving.
