Steelers reportedly hire another defensive assistant

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The Steelers have another addition to the coaching staff as NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports C.J. Ah You will leave Texas Tech to join the Steelers as an outside linebackers coach.

Ah You worked with Tyree Wilson, who became a 1st Team All-American as the Big 12 leader in tackles for loss per game. He was selected with the seventh pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.

He started his career at Snow College, where Jaylen Warren also played, and then Oklahoma and was 1st Team All-Big 12 his final season. He was drafted by the Rams and then went into coaching following his playing career.

Ah You was a defensive quality control assistant at Oklahoma in 2014-15, taking that to three years at Vanderbilt as a defensive line coach. He would coach in the XFL and had a coaching internship with the Chargers in 2020. The 43-year-old would spend a season at USC and then coached the defensive line with Nevada before going to Texas Tech.
