PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – In a sign that DeShon Elliott is about to return to the active roster, the Steelers released veteran Rayshawn Jenkins Wednesday. Jenkins is a safety, same as Elliott.
Will he be back this week?
“I hope so,” said Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy. “We have a practice plan for him. He’s doing really well. He’s chomping at the bit. Will see how it does this week.”
Elliott was placed on Injured Reserve at the start of the season as he recovers from a knee injury suffered last year. He has until next Monday to either be activated or lost for the season.
