PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – For the third time in the last four years, the Steelers went offensive tackle in the first round of the NFL Draft. This pick in Pittsburgh, made by Jerome Bettis standing next to Roger Goodell, is Arizona State’s Max Iheanachor.

He is 6’6”, 330 pounds and only started playing football in 2021. He is projected by NFL.com to be a plus starter after starting all 14 games with Arizona State as a right tackle last year and being named Second Time All-Big 12. NFL.com says he’s already a strong run blocker but needs work as pass-protection, but played well against Texas Tech. He showed off lateral quickness and body control, with the big weakness being lack of experience.

In his college career, Iheanachor played all but one game at right tackle (30 of 31).
