The Steelers have signed a popular former Pitt player to their practice squad.
Long snapper Cal Adomitis was added to the practice squad on Friday. To make room, the Steelers terminated linebacker Kana'I Mauga from the practice squad.
The signing comes after long snapper Christian Kuntz appeared on Thursday's injury report with a knee issue. He was limited.
The 27-year-old Pittsburgh native graduated from Central Catholic and was named a first-team All-American in 2021 at Pitt.
Adomitis was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Bengals in 2022 and have appeared in 58 games over four seasons with the Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles.
Adomitis raised over $100,000 for UPMC Children's Hospital while at Pitt through his Cal's Kids campaign.
