PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A converted safety, turned linebacker, Steelers signed Jarvis Miller on Wednesday.

His career started as a redshirt in 2015 before playing 15 games with the Nittany Lions finishing with 22 tackles, a fumble recovery, pass defense, sack and a pair of tackles for loss.

Miller would play a graduate year at UMass in 2019, starting 12 games with 60 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack.  He was second team All-independent as a linebacker and had a season-high 10 tackles vs. UConn.

Like receiver Mathew Sexton signed from Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, the 6’2”, 225 pound Miller also didn’t get drafted in 2020.

Miller was the third best player to come out of Connecticut in 2015 as an all-state defensive back and running back. He’s also a black belt in karate.

He joins another former Penn State safety, moved to linebacker, Marcus Allen.
