The Steelers will make their debut on CBS this weekend and their game in New England is getting the station’s top broadcast team.
Play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz will be joined by JJ Watt when the Steelers take on the AFC Champion-defending Patriots with Tracy Wolfson on the sidelines.
Watt has replaced Tony Romo, who was arrested in July for an OWI (DUI) while in Wisconsin.
Romo released a statement talking about his struggles with alcohol and pain medication, related to injuries he suffered while playing quarterback in the NFL.
Romo is currently on indefinite leave and no date has been announced for if/when he will return to CBS.
With play-by-play assignments out for Week 3, Romo won’t be back until Week 4 at the earliest.
Nantz and Watt will then call the Ravens/Cowboys game in Rio De Janerio with the Steelers getting Ian Eagle, Ross Tucker and Evan Wasburn when they host the Bengals on September 27 at 1 p.m. on CBS.
