Former Browns QB floats idea of Cleveland offering huge trade for Tomlin

Steeler Head Coach Mike Tomlin has been getting not just love from the national media (like he usually does) he’s also getting high praise from the local media, which isn’t as quick to heap praise on the 18-year leader.

But, this season, when most people wanted the Steelers to stick with Justin Fields, Tomlin moved to Russell Wilson, and they haven’t lost a game since.

One of the things Steelers fans will hear from outside of Pittsburgh is they don’t know how lucky they are to have Tomlin as head coach. So, what if Cleveland offered the farm to trade for him?

National media is being proven right, so far this season, with many believing Tomlin is the Coach of the Year in the NFL.

Tomlin is considered such a valuable asset in the NFL that a former Browns quarterback believes Cleveland having Tomlin has their head coach would completely chance the trajectory of the team.

“Mike Tomlin never gets enough credit,” said Brady Quinn (one of the many Browns QBs over the past two decades) on the 2 Pros & A Cup of Joe show on Fox Sports Radio this week.

In Cleveland, it looks like Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski’s job could be in jeopardy after winning Coach of the Year last season.

If Stefanski is fired, Quinn says “If I’m (Browns owner) Jimmy Haslam I’m going to offer whatever it takes to get Mike Tomlin and at least make them say no, like make them an offer they can’t refuse.”

Quinn adds he knows it’s “never going to happen” and that Steelers fans “will criticize me and people from Cleveland will think it’s dumb.”

So, what would it take? You think around three or four 1st round draft picks.
