Following Tuesday’s minicamp at Heinz Field, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was asked about possible injuries to three prominent members of the team’s offense, but ether declined to get into specifics, or outright declined to comment.

Tomlin, who is not required by the NFL or NFLPA to disclose injury situations during minicamp, would not cave when pressed during the media session.

Here is how the questions and answers went:

Reporter 1: “Mike, were there any injuries that were concerning to you today?”

Tomlin: “None concerning, none whatsoever. You know, I don’t talk injury in great detail this time of year. I’m not required to do so. But rest assured, if I thought something was significant, I’d address it with you guys.”

Tomlin was then questioned about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Reporter 2: “Mike, going off of that, it looked like there may have been something that happened with Ben there at the end. Can you walk us through maybe what happened there during that two-minute drill?”

Tomlin: “I won’t.”

The questioning then shifted to wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Reporter 3: “To the same end, and I’m guessing the same answer, we also saw JuJu leave the field earlier. Are we to assume that it is nothing significant as well?”

Tomlin interrupted, saying, “Yes, you are.”

The reporter continued, “Can we expect to see Ben or JuJu back on the field this week?”

“You can expect whatever you wish,” Tomlin replied. “We’ll see what tomorrow holds.”

Tomlin was then asked about guard David DeCastro, who was not seen on the field practicing, but was seen in attendance. Tomlin refused to answer that question.

The Steelers will return to Heinz Field on Wednesday for minicamp before wrapping up the sessions on Thursday.
