Tomlin says he wasn't aware of George Pickens arguing with fans

Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was seen arguing with some fans in the stands at Acrisure Stadium during the team's loss to Cincinnati on Saturday night and guess who didn't see it?

That's right, Mike Tomlin.

The Steelers Head Coach was asked about an incident captured on the sidelines that showed tight end Pat Freiermuth holding Pickens back, apparently exchanging words with some fans.

"I have no idea what you're referring to so that's news to me, so I'd be speculating if I commented on it in any way," said Tomlin.

The PM Team's Chris Mueller called B.S. on Tomlin's statement, saying:

It seems to come down to two possibilities, either Tomlin is covering for Pickens, again or he's so out of touch with him team, he isn't aware of an incident involving one of his players arguing with a fan.

Pickens had six targets (three drops) and online one catch for zero yards on Saturday night against the Bengals.

Joe Starkey said Monday that it's just more babysitting that has to be done for Pickens.

"There's Russell Wilson babysitting him," said Starkey, adding it's the latest in a long line of issues this season.

Starkey is convinced Pickens gave up during the snow game loss in Cleveland earlier this season.

"How many times are we going to look at this?" said Starkey.

He says it just seems like anytime things doing go the way Pickens wants, he quits.

The Steelers offense saw firsthand how woeful it is without Pickens. He's also been a liability while on the field.

But, hope against hope, Pickens and the Steelers offense get their act together this Saturday, or it's going to be eight years without a playoff win for Pittsburgh.
