One of the Steelers’ path to the postseason is a win over Baltimore on Saturday, followed by the Tennessee Titans beating the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
The Titans may be facing a Jaguars team without quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Jags Head Coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence will be “questionable” for Sunday and it could be a game-time decision.
Lawrence will throw more on Friday.
He was injured on during a game on Christmas Eve against Tampa and missed last week’s game against Carolina.
If Lawrence doesn’t play C.J. Beathard will start again. He went 17-24 with 178 passing yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in Jacksonville’s 26-0 win over the 2-14 Carolina Panthers last week.
The Titans are 5-11 and have nothing to play for except pride, but there are also some other motivating factors.
Derrick Henry is playing his last time under contract with Tennessee.
Ryan Tannehill is also playing the last game under his current four-year, $118 million contract he signed in 2020.
Head Coach Mike Vrabel said earlier this week he wants to be in Tennessee next season, so he’ll be doing everything he can to help his team beat the Jacksonville.
