FOXBOROUGH, MA (93.7 The Fan) – A couple of the key inactives we knew about before game day, but there was still offensive tackle Troy Fautanu dealing with an ankle injury before Steelers-Patriots Sunday.
The Steelers 2024 first-round pick apparently suffered the injury during the Falcons game, but returned quickly. He was limited during the week and worked out with offensive line coach James Campen a couple of hours before the game, left the field before some of this teammates, but cleared to play Sunday in New England and start at left tackle.
With Joey Porter, Junior out, Doneiko Slaughter was once again added from the practice squad. Running back/special teamer Travis Homer was also elevated from the practice squad.
Receiver Michael Pittman (foot) was ruled out on Saturday and rookie Germie Bernard will likely take some of those reps as the team can also use more two-tight end looks with Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth.
