PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Mitch Trubisky is headed to a playoff contender. It’s the same team he left to sign in Pittsburgh two years ago.

The 29-year-old was released early by the Steelers to allow him the opportunity to find a new home. Instead he found an old home as Trubisky is in talks to rejoin the Buffalo Bills according to Tim Graham of The Athletic.

He will again back-up Josh Allen, as he did in 2021 getting in six games in mop-up duty going 6 of 8 for 43 yards and an interception. In two seasons with the Steelers, Trubisky went 2-5 in seven starts completing 64% of his passes for 1,884 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions in a total of 12 games. Trubisky was the Steelers starter for the 2022 opener and replaced at halftime in Week 4 against the Jets and was Kenny Pickett’s back-up after that point.

The second overall pick of the Bears in 2017, Trubisky was 29-21 in Chicago throwing for 10,609 yards with 64 touchdowns and 37 interceptions.
