Ravens’ Al Villanueva took some parting shots, but for Zach Banner, it’s all love

In recent weeks, Alejandro Villanueva was rumored to have been in the works with the Ravens on signing a deal.

And the pen hit the paper Tuesday with the draft in the rearview mirror.

Villanueva officially joined the Ravens Tuesday and signed a two-year contract to join the Steelers' AFC North rival.

But on Wednesday, Villanueva spoke during a Zoom meeting and made comments that many interpreted as shots against the Steelers.

Villanueva made a quip about TikTok videos, which could be seen as a low-hanging fruit dig at JuJu Smith-Schuster and some of his 2020 hijinks.

Villanueva also made mention of his desire to play for a run-first team, which might've had some Ben Roethlisberger subterfuge to it.

Regardless of Villanueva’s intentions, some took the comments to be slights against his former team.

However, one of Villanueva’s former teammates had nothing but well-wishes for him moving forward: Zach Banner.

He had not a single bad thing to say.

Instead, Banner took to Twitter to show his support and dismiss any potential beef.

"I love and miss the OG already. I wish him luck.

"Congrats on a great career in [Pittsburgh]."

All's well that ends well; it seems like the story has wrapped up itself.

And maybe that’s the last you’ll hear on Villanueva rumblings...

But it's also not impossible that something will get stirred up again with the Steelers and Ravens when they face off later this year.
