According to a report, the Steelers are giving themselves a little cap room before the start of the season.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Pittsburgh has restructured the contract of outside linebacker T.J. Watt.
The move creates 6.75 million of space, a source told Rapoport.
According to Spotrac, the Steelers currently have nearly $2.484 million left in cap space.
That would leave the Steelers with over $9.2 million to play with.
Could that mean the Steelers are going to try to bolster their offensive line.
With so much talent on the offensive side of the ball, it could the O-line that hinders the team from scoring point (The Steelers also don't know how Trubisky will play out a quarterback, now on a new team).
93.7 The Fan's Colin Dunlap thinks the Steelers should go after Eric Fisher or Eric Bulaga.
Fisher is currently free agent after playing with the Indianapolis Colts last season on a one-year, $8.38 million deal.
The overall number one pick in the 2013 draft, the 31-year-old tackle played eight seasons with the Kansas City, helping the Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV.
Bulaga is another first round pick, taken 23rd overall by the Green Bay Packers in 2010. The tackle was a rookie when he helped the Packers beat the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
The 33-year-old Bulaga spent his first ten years in Green Bay before signing a three-year, $30 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.
He started in 10 games for the Chargers in 2020 but missed six with a back injury.
Last September he was placed on IR with both back and groin issues.
This past March, Los Angeles released Bulaga.
Fisher and Bulaga are both in their 30s, but with the Steelers offensive line struggling so much, it might be worth to bring in one of them for a year.
