Whaley: 'Mr. Unlimited' gives the Steelers an 'unlimited' ceiling

“Mr. Unlimited” has made the Steelers’ ceiling “unlimited”, according to former Buffalo Bills General Manager and Steelers executive Doug Whaley.

Former NFL GM Doug Whaley:

Whaley made the comments during his weekly visit to The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday.

“You just don’t put a ceiling on them because . . . when you start talking about putting up 30 points a game, with that defense and a quarterback that, as we saw on Sunday night, can elevate other people’s games,” said Whaley about Russell Wilson.

Wilson threw for 264 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for one in the Steelers in their 37-15 win over Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.

Whaley says that Mike Tomlin knew what he was doing the entire time and knew that Wilson could open up the passing game more, compared to Fields and that has paid off.

Whaley adds that Justin Fields has been handling the situation spectacularly and now the players have confidence in Wilson and that should continue to grow.

If something happens to Wilson, and he gets hurt, the players have already played with Fields and also have confidence in him.

The Steelers take on the New York Giants at Acrisure Stadium this Monday night.

They’ll be wearing Color Rush uniforms.
