PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Facing two-time defending Super Bowl winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Wednesday, it doesn’t look good for corner Joey Porter, Junior playing.

“Anybody that didn’t make it out of the stadium yesterday on a four-day turnaround is probably going to have a difficult time showing for this one,” Tomlin said.

That means Porter, who was initially able to return, but then left the game for good in Baltimore. The second-year starter suffered a knee injury that also impacted his calf. Porter has started 26 games in two seasons including every game this year. Pair that with the other starting corner, Donte Jackson, still dealing with a back injury.

The news for Jackson is more promising as Tomlin said he is in a group that has ‘a real chance’. That includes:
·     WR George Pickens (hamstring)-Tomlin admitted he’s surprised he’s missed this much time
·     S DeShon Elliott (hamstring)
·     QB Justin Fields (abdomen)
·     DT Larry Ogunjobi (groin)

Tomlin held out the caveat that they need to evaluate see how all handle the shortened week before making any declarations.

WR Ben Skowronek would fall into the same category as Porter as not being able to finish Saturday due to a hip injury.
