We have no idea if the Steelers were interested in Russell Wilson like they reportedly were in Aaron Rodgers, but if they were it would've cost them…a lot!
According to multiple NFL insiders the Denver Broncos had to give up two first-round picks, two in the second-round, a fifth rounder along with quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant and defensive lineman Shelby Harris.
The Seahawks now own the ninth overall pick after the trade in this year's draft.
The Steelers owned the 20th pick, so if they had any kind of proposal, it may have included a third third-rounder.
As Andrew Fillipponi points out, that would be like the Steelers giving up QB Mason Rudolph, tight end Pat Freiermuth and defensive tackle Cam Heyward, along with all the draft picks for Wilson.
Oh, the Broncos are also getting a fourth-round pick.
We may never know what the cost would've been for a team to acquire Rodgers but CBS Sports said it would be a first-round this year and next year, a third-round pick and a 2024 conditional first-round pick.
Even if you wanted Wilson in Pittsburgh, the details of the trade show just how much it would've cost the Steelers.
