ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that Aaron Rodgers was the Steelers 3rd choice at quarterback going into free agency.

But, Fan Steelers insider Mark Kaboly tells The Fan Morning show Stafford was never a serious consideration by the Steelers.
“Matt Stafford was just a ploy by the Matt Stafford Rams to get him to sign back (in Los Angeles), that was never legitimate” said Kaboly. “Maybe that was a call . . . but that never event went past the initial conversation.”
When free agency began, Fields was the Steelers first choice, but after he signed with the New York Jets, the Steelers needed to find a plan B.
“It was like ‘uh oh we don’t really want Russell (Wilson), what’s out next option.’ That’s what it was,” said Kaboly about the Steelers though process.
