How much of Fields will Ravens see, as calls for him to start build
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin said he is "certainly open to utilizing" backup quarterback Justin Fields on Saturday during the team's Wild Card game in Baltimore.
Offensive Coordinator said about Fields, "no stone left unturned" and they'll be "using everything at our disposal" to win.
Fields spoke to reporters on Tuesday and say he is preparing "like I'm playing."
He's also said he's happy that Baltimore's defense will have to "just waste time" on prepiing for the possibility of him coming in on some plays, short yardage, goal line and more.
"I think they would be crazy not to use Justin Fields," said The Post-Gazette's Ray Fittipaldo on The Fan Morning Show. "This offense needs a spark right now."
Not only do fans want to see Fields, some, including Fan Morning Show co-host Adam Crowley wants to see him start.
Adam knows that Fields won't start, but that doesn't mean he doesn't think it should happen.
Since that won't happen Crowley and co-host Dorin Dickerson say that starting quarterback Russell Wilson should be on a short leash.
"I think it's a fairly long leash," said Fittipaldo, adding it would be seen as a "panic move" by Tomlin.
He adds if the Steelers go down 21-0 early or something like that, then he can see Wilson getting pulled.
Fittipaldo doesn't think the Steelers have that as part of their game plan.
Dickerson quickly chimed in, "They should, they should because it's one and done."
The Steelers need to do whatever it takes to win the game on Saturday, or it's going to be eight years without a playoff win for the Steelers.
Eight years without a playoff win? You'd have to go back to before Chuck Noll was the coach for a streak that long.
