A house fire in the South Los Angeles area Thursday left two people with minor smoke inhalation.

Firefighters sent to the 600 block of West 111th Place at 8:20 a.m. Thursday extinguished the flames in the single-story structure in 13 minutes, Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

"Firefighters ... made access through the front door and found two people inside, as flames grew in one room to the rear of the structure," Prange said. "Firefighters rescued both adult occupants from the structure, who thankfully sustained only minor smoke inhalation before being pulled out."

The pair were taken to a hospital for treatment, Prange said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
