
PERRIS, Calif. (KNX) – Eight people were hospitalized after a car crashed into Tomas Rivera Middle School Wednesday.

Of those hospitalized, two people had moderate injuries while five other had minor injuries, CAL Fire reported.
Just before 2 p.m., Val Verde Unified School District Police Department announced there was a collision on campus and that a shelter in place was issued. The order for the shelter-in-place was lifted just before 4 p.m.
It’s unclear as to why the crashed into the school; however, CBS Los Angeles reported the driver may have experienced a medical emergency. The outlet also reported he stayed on the scene and was cooperating with officials.
