Beloved Big Bear eagle Jackie remains in critical condition after she was injured and then rescued over the weekend.
The Ojai Raptor Center says Jackie is underweight and anemic with infected kidneys, but added that she's alert, eating with help, and even fighting the staff.
“In the meantime, our veterinary team has begun supportive treatment based on the information available, and we are grateful for the collaboration and expert guidance being offered by wildlife professionals from around the world,” officials said.
Test results are pending for possible toxins. Jackie was found struggling in the water after an apparent fight with two younger eagles.
