LOS ANGELES (KNX) – “The Partridge Family” star and radio host Danny Bonaduce said he’s getting brain surgery.
In an interview with TMZ, the 63-year-old said that after seeing hundreds of doctors for a mystery illness, he was finally diagnosed with hydrocephalus.
Hydrocephalus is a neurological disease “caused by an abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles (cavities) deep within the brain,” according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
Bonaduce told the outlet he began experiencing symptoms last year when he lost his ability to walk or stay balanced. He also said his wife noticed his speech was off.
Bonaduce said he doesn’t know exactly what happened to his body, but added he has some ideas.
“…I can't figure out what caused it because I've done so many stupid things on a reality TV show,” he said in the interview. “I took a guitar to the head and that hurt and was possibly the cause of all this. I got punched in the face by Jose Conseco, a 265-pound professional athlete.”
He announced in April 2022 that he was taking temporary medical leave from his radio show. His surgery is scheduled for Monday.
