Fetty Wap pleads guilty for role in drug trafficking ring

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (KNX) – Rapper Fetty Wap pleaded guilty Monday for his role in a drug trafficking ring.

The rapper, whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II pleaded guilty in Long Island Federal Court to conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances.

He was arrested Oct. 23, after an indictment claimed Maxwell II was one of six people involved in a nationwide drug trafficking ring that moved 100 kilograms of cocaine, fentanyl, heroin and crack, according to NBC New York.

His plea comes a couple weeks after U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Locke revoked the rapper’s bond after it was revealed the musician threatened a man over FaceTime in December 2021. The Associated Press reported that Wap said “Imma kill you and everybody you with.” He has been behind bars since the.

Multiple outlets said the rapper is facing a minimum sentence of five years in prison.

The rapper is known for his songs “Trap Queen”, “679” and “My Way.”
