A brush fire in Echo Park burned through at least a quarter acre of vegetation Monday without reports of structural damage or injuries.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange, firefighters responded to a report of a light brush fire in the 1400 block of West Academy Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
