LONG BEACH, Calif. (KNX) — Flights headed for John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana and Long Beach Airport were diverted Wednesday night to Ontario International Airport, with officials citing heavy fog.

It is not known how many flights were diverted. While United Airlines bussed diverted passengers back to Orange County, some airlines such as Southwest reportedly declined to offer transport. One passenger told CBS 2 she had to pay for her own Uber ride from Ontario to Santa Ana.
