Roughly 4,000 actors, writers, and other Hollywood workers staged a solidarity rally in Hollywood Wednesday morning, marching a mile from Netflix headquarters to Paramount Studios. With a resolution to the dual strikes still nowhere in sight, SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher praised the unions for standing firm.

“I know that this strike is not easy. In fact, it's hard,” she said. “And with the passing of time it's going to even get harder. But the reason why we had the largest strike authorization in our union history is because we stand at an inflection point.”
The Writers Guild of America has been on strike since May, and while negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have recently resumed, union officials said last week that “the intransigence of the AMPTP structure is impeding progress.”
The AMPTP hasn’t resumed talks with SAG-AFTRA since the actors joined the picket lines two months ago.
IATSE, IBEW, and Teamsters members also joined the rally, KNX News’ Pete Demetriou reports. The massive crowd forced the shutdown of Melrose Avenue in front of Paramount Studios.
SAG-AFTRA and WGA negotiators told the crowd they intended to hold the line until the AMPTP offers them a fair contract.
