As the sun continues to beat down on Southern Californians, residents in Glendale turn to the community pool as a way to beat the heat.

KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian went to Pacific Community Pool where kids are taking swimming lessons as their parents watch from the sidelines.

“I really recommend swimming,” one swimmer said. “It is really good for the heat and I feel like it gives a great exercise to stay fit.”

Kristina, a lifeguard at the Glendale pool, echoed how swimming is a great way to stay cool.

“So you come in, you just check in with the front, let them know that you are already registered and right now it's summer registration, so they already booked their lessons a few months ago,” she said.

Outside of swimming lessons, the pool is open for recreational swimming. Entry fees vary, but remain under $3. The pool schedule can be found at glendaleaquatics.org.
