Supervisor Janice Hahn is demanding that Los Angeles County DA Nathan Hochman investigate the local sporting goods store where the suspected White House Correspondents' Dinner attacker allegedly bought his shotgun.
A new report says Turner's Outdoorsman in Torrance is linked to about one in four guns used in crimes in California. The Trace, an organization that tracks gun violence in America, reports that between 2022 and 2024, 8,000 guns have been tied back to Turner’s locations.
According to Hahn's letter, guns purchased at the eight Turner's Outdoorsman stores in L.A. County have been connected to a "disproportionate number of firearms recovered at crime scenes" by the California Department of Justice.
She also cited DOJ data indicating that the Turner's Outdoorsman locations in Norwalk, Signal Hill, and Pasadena also rank among the state's top crime gun sources.
She added that she wants the D.A.’s office to look into it and possibly add stricter rules for gun stores.
Cole Allen allegedly bought the weapon eight months before running past security in an alleged attempt to kill President Trump.
