Former President Donald Trump was expected to testify this week at his New York civil fraud trial, but at the last minute, he shifted gears, deciding against taking the stand.

On Sunday, Trump shared the news of his shifting game plan in the case brought against him by New York Attorney General Letitia James. James is suing Trump for $250 million and looking to bar him from doing business in New York.

Trump attorney Alina Habba told reporters last week that his legal team had advised him not to take the stand, but at the time, he was adamant about it.

“President Trump does not cower,” Habba said, adding that he was “not afraid.”

However, taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday, the former president had a change in tune.

“BASED ON… THE FACT THAT OUR UNASSAILABLE FINAL EXPERT WITNESS HAS BEEN SO STRONG AND IRREFUTABLE IN HIS TESTIMONY, WHICH WILL CONCLUDE ON TUESDAY, & THAT I HAVE ALREADY TESTIFIED TO EVERYTHING & HAVE NOTHING MORE TO SAY OTHER THAN THAT THIS IS A COMPLETE & TOTAL ELECTION INTERFERENCE (BIDEN CAMPAIGN!) WITCH HUNT, THAT WILL DO NOTHING BUT KEEP BUSINESSES OUT OF NEW YORK, I WILL NOT BE TESTIFYING ON MONDAY,” Trump posted.

While Trump may not be taking the stand on Monday, he may soon have to in other cases, as the former president is still fighting numerous legal challenges over his actions before and after leaving office.

Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign event in Iowa on Wednesday before he makes his way to New Hampshire for a political rally on Saturday.
