(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- You may want to think twice about sharing pictures of your children on social media.
Parents are proud of their kids, and they like to post pictures of their kids on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.
Jennifer Jolly, tech writer for USA Today tells the noon business hour that there's a word for it...sharenting.
However, scammers are starting to use social media pictures to get vital information.
"Identity Fraud among children has just skyrocketed in the last year or two and the biggest person to blame is the parents themselves," she added.
Jolly said that according to a Barclays Bank study that says it will get worse.
"They predict that will account for two-thirds of identity fraud facing young people."
She also said that parents should consider if their child even wants wants to have his or her picture posted on social media.
