Investigation underway after man fatally shot in Azusa

A man was fatally shot Friday in the Azusa area, and an investigation was underway.

The shooting was reported about 5:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North San Gabriel Avenue, north of the Foothill (210) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he died, the sheriff's department reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available.

No arrests were reported, and no suspect information was released.
