The plane had departed from Hollywood Burbank Airport bound for El Salvador, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. According to multiple reports, the plane made it as far as the Cajon Pass area but turned around when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.

The jet, a twin-engine Gulfstream IV, made the emergency landing in Van Nuys without incident. Rolling Stone reported there were 16 people aboard.

Video from the airport showed the Colombian reggaeton singer hugging people on the tarmac after she departed the jet.

No injuries were reported.

Born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, the 33-year-old singer has won a Grammy, five Latin Grammys and four Billboard Music awards. Her latest album is the first Spanish-language album by a female artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 English language chart.
