LA County gas prices are still more than $4 per gallon

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Saturday to $4.566.

The average price is 4.1 cents less than one week ago, 20.8 cents less than one month ago and 60.6 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.928 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.


The Orange County average price was unchanged at $4.48 after decreasing for 11 consecutive days. It is 5.2 cents less than one week ago, 21.3 cents less than one month ago and 63.7 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.979 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 14th straight day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.45. It is 2.8 cents less than one week ago, 8.8 cents less than one month ago and 37.8 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.566 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

"With Tropical Storm Debby drifting up the I-95 corridor to visit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the threat to Gulf Coast oil production and refining is over," said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. "But tensions in the Middle East and some overseas economic uncertainty may mitigate any drop in oil prices."
