Langer’s Deli is celebrating its 79th anniversary by offering an anniversary cake and gift certificate giveaways.
KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian spoke to longtime patrons about what keeps them coming back.
“It's that comfort food you take a bite, and it's like I'm back home,” said one customer.
The customers say that Langer's pastrami is consistently delicious, a favorite on the menu. Langer’s has also been a consistent presence in their lives, offering a place for families to come together.
“As kids, my uncle used to have a dry cleaner around the corner, so we would come in, the whole family, and have fabulous pastrami sandwiches and just be a family, you know,” said another customer.
Langer's Delicatessen has survived almost eight decades in Los Angeles, a rarity among closing restaurants across the city.
“Honestly, it's so incredible that the restaurant has survived, and we're so happy for that,” said a customer. “We just, we need to celebrate this, and it's sad to see places going away.”
Customers are continuing to urge people to continue to support the historic deli.
