
Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said that schools are expected to resume on Tuesday after a Monday closure.
He added that about two dozen schools are without phone and internet access. He added that there was a minor mudslide at Marlton School that is being addressed.

The superintendent announced the closure on Sunday afternoon at a press conference with Governor Gavin Newson, Mayor Karen Bass, and other local leaders
“Every single indication puts us in [a] position of saying tomorrow shall be a regular school day,” he said.
He added that from 11:30 A.M. to 2 P.M., LAUSD will be activating 13 grab-and-go food distribution sites throughout the community.
“No child shall go hungry today,” he said.
